Life is unpredictable. VPFCU recognizes that occasional overdrafts can happen. Your checking account is automatically enrolled in Overdraft Protection upon account opening, utilizing your savings account available funds with the option of adding additional VPFCU deposit accounts. This service safeguards you from incurring NSF fees by preventing your account from going negative. Should an overdraft occur, funds are transferred from your savings account to your checking account for a small fee, please refer to the Fee Schedule.

Important Information About Procedures for Opening New Account: To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents.
Member Identification Requirements: In accordance with Section 326 of the USA Patriot Act, applicants for new accounts are requested to provide current picture identification that verifies identity including name, address, and other identifying information. In some cases, identification will be requested for current members if original documents was not obtained with the opening of the account. In all cases, protection of our members’ identity and confidentiality is our pledge to you.
